Prepaid Experts is the dominant prepaid wireless distributor in the Baltimore/Washington area.

Founded as Mr. Prepaid in 1997, we started with a focus on the prepaid telecom market. With a strong distribution channel and deep knowledge of the local market, the company quickly positioned itself as the largest Econophone distributor in the Baltimore region with monthly sales of $200,000. In early 2002 with five years of telecom related experience the company's founder, Mr. Daniel Ely, launched efforts to penetrate the wireless prepaid industry. The prepaid wireless market has become an increasingly important part of the overall wireless industry.

Though Mr. Prepaid's initial foray into prepaid telecom market focused mainly on the sale of calling cards, a key decision taken early on in the shift to wireless was to implement a POSA or Point of Sale Activation system throughout the distribution network. unlike traditional calling card distribution, in which a distributor purchases "live" inventory or active cards, a point of sale activation system allows distributors to minimize the cost of inventory held within their distribution network.
